A very good start in Wellington
Until now, the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida has been a very good show for JR Sporthorses and the team.
After the horses arrived at the stables at Sunnyland Lane, they enjoyed a few days in the pasture, relaxing and getting ready to compete at the Festival showground.
Only a few days later, the horses showed for the first time.
We are very pleased with the commitment from all of them and look forward to the weeks ahead.
Winnings
In week one, we took home a few ribbons from placements, but Chacomo won the $2,500 1.35 m jumping. A good start in Wellington.
The week after, Now And Ever was a champ in the 140 cm class. He is a really extraordinary horse. If you are interested in an especially skilled horse for the bigger classes – come and try him out in our stables.
Week 4 was again fantastic with many placements and winnings. E.g., Otis Blue – one of our favorites – won all the classes for 6-year-olds and was announced as CHAMPION OF THE WEEK!
That created a lot of attention from both visitors, other riders, and customers, and all the present magazines wrote articles on his amazing performance.
Weeks 3, 4 and 5 were all great with a lot of clear rounds and excellent riding.
The team performed exceptionally well in almost every class.
More placements
However, we must emphasize Rie Roed and her horse Newcomer.
Rie, who just turned 18 this week, has developed fantastic riding skills over the last six months. She is, like her sister Thit Bibi Roed, very talented and will do very well in the years to come.
She and Newcomer were placed 3rd in 145 cm, and with that ride, Rie stated that she deserves a place in the Danish Junior Rider Squad – which was confirmed on February 6th. Fantastic!
Special De Gamet also did amazingly well over here. With very tough competitors, Special De Gamet is still a superior horse with skills, powers, and talent to reach the top every time.
Chacomo showed his talent once again. In week 5, he was also placed in 140 cm. A class with many other great riders and horses.
We are so excited about this horse and his results.
The Nations Cup
After week 5, we focused on the Junior Nations Cup at Deeridge Farms in Wellington.
The Danish team did well and half of the team was riding on horses from JR Sporthorses.
The team ended up as number 3.
Weeks 7 & 8
Week 7 was a relaxing week for most of the horses, but again in week 8, they showed excellence.
Tuscia was clear in both 140 cm and 145 cm CSI**. We are amazed by this horse every time.
In week 8, we particularly put our trust in Otis Blue and cross our fingers that he will do a good job.
He is peaking now and seems really ready. So, watch him.
